Well the truth is that, Archer, I have no idea what you may like. I can soon fix it, anyway.
[Jupiter grinned slightly. Was that a challenge of sorts? Oh, but she loved teasing.]
Would you rather be called sweetie, or cutie, or lovely? Pick your choice.
“I would rather be called by my name, thank you.” Archer was not amused, though he wasn’t at the point of being annoyed, either. He wasn’t the kind to lose his composure over being teased.
Certainly nicknames are better- ah, I see! Afraid you might forget it, aren’t you? You could’ve told me earlier you had such a bad memory~!
[Fine, this was not her usual style, and neither the usual Jupiter would have said something like that. Not quite. But how stressed she was, exactly? And somehow, she had to pour it out.]
“That I am. Though I’m not too keen on you calling me ‘dear’. You’re a Galactic Commander, aren’t you? Your hair isn’t green, so I will assume so. Sorry, but I don’t know your name.”
I’m Jupiter, Commander Jupiter, and you supposed well. What’s with your rudeness, though, dear~? I’m merely being friendly.
“Jupiter,” he repeated. “Is it so rude to speak the truth? Here you tease me with a word I don’t like, and yet you point your finger at me? Hm.”

My, but aren’t you that Archer of Team Rocket, dear?

Yes, I happen to know it… even more than I wish I did. But anyway, this is not what I need to tell you; see, Saturn, each region has its own organization. Perhaps you were already aware. However, I’m afraid they might throw a monkey wrench in the works.
I”m well aware of that, yes. And you’re right, this could pose to be a problem. Perhaps we should think over a more…covert plan.
We’ll figure out, eventually. This time Mars won’t get us sidetracked, will she?
I unfortunately have to go take care of some business at the moment, but we should definitely discuss this some more; and the sooner the better. I will tell you if I think something up.
My, it isn’t. I’ve already been to both Unova and Hoenn, dear, and I managed to have quite the cheap stay. Especially the latter is not as pricey as Sinnoh is. Besides, you know that I’d never refuse to travel, but… may I warn you of something?
Hoenn might be the best place to start, then! Especially if you’ve been there already. You’d know your way around, at least more than I would.
Hm, a warning? Go right ahead.
Yes, I happen to know it… even more than I wish I did. But anyway, this is not what I need to tell you; see, Saturn, each region has its own organization. Perhaps you were already aware. However, I’m afraid they might throw a monkey wrench in the works.
Really now? Wonderful! Less of a chance for our good name to be spoiled. I propose we take a small trip. We could start in Hoenn, possibly. Or wherever Master Cyrus would like us to go first. It can’t be that expensive, right?

Hm, what a shame.
Oh, I don’t know. Maybe a thought-provoking commercial, convincing people to join the cause? That, or bribery.
Maybe we should start attempting to recruit from other regions, too.
That’s for sure. In fact, you know something? I met various foreigners and I’ve noticed that, while in Sinnoh everybody knows and despises us, in the other regions they’ve hardly heard of Team Galactic. They barely caught Master Cyrus’ name.
Offensive, perhaps, though indeed useful. We’d have higher chances of recruiting.
Clearly they lost their faith. But isn’t it better? At least we got rid of the idlers. Even if, speaking of such, you complain at the right moment; Master Cyrus wanted us to recruit, somehow, and I’m just running out of ideas.
Recruit? Hm. That would be in our best interest…
Do we know how much money we have in the fund? Perhaps some commercializing is in order.
Little, dear, very little. And yet what could we commercialize?
My, I bet. It’s been so long. What have you been up to lately, dear?
Looking for new ways to gain some money for Galactic. The lack of grunts we have is making most of my idea unattainable. [Sigh] I don’t see why they all had to leave.
Clearly they lost their faith. But isn’t it better? At least we got rid of the idlers. Even if, speaking of such, you complain at the right moment; Master Cyrus wanted us to recruit, somehow, and I’m just running out of ideas.
Jupiter! How nice to see you.
My, I bet. It’s been so long. What have you been up to lately, dear?
She may only have a high school diploma, but she knows what she does. Even if I don’t understand much about electronics, I understand that. Janet’s a stand-out.
They must have hired her because they’ve seen her potential. Well, she listed you as a reference and told them about Team Galactic, yet they shouldn’t let themselves be influenced by anything in any way, if by chance that’s what you mean- which sounds shadier.
That’s a way more positive way to look at it. I’m suspecting quite heavily that they want her to take the job, just so they can find out more about what I’ve been up to lately. I was the only one that I’m aware of who got caught leaking information, but I assure you I wasn’t acting alone.
I see. Either way, it would be quite foolish of them, and also… assuming that you were right, and Janet found it out, she would be devastated, wouldn’t she? For many reasons.
Oh, Charon dear, what I‘d to to them. Let us hope it’s not as you say.
Jupiter, I’m not exactly a well-liked man at Silph Co.
I was at one time, but my name has gone down in history as the most notorious researcher they ever hired. I’d been part of the company since it started in the 1970s, but I was caught leaking classified material to Team Rocket. I was the one who helped with the Rocket takeover in the 90s.
The fact that they let Janet, who only has a high school diploma, in for a job that usually requires an associate’s degree at the very least, is unsettling to me.

I can see where the latter news would be good for you. In my case, it concerns me no more. I have since retired. If Cyrus wants me back, he can give me part-time work as I continue to pull in my retirement. Money is the only thing that motivates me these days.
Ah, and I asked Janet what her big news was. I’m pleased, very much so. I hope that Silph Co. is everything that she expects it to be, for her own sake.
My, I know, but I wanted to share my happiness regardless. What do you mean, though? I remember you used to work there, and that’s Janet’s dream. I’ve never seen her this happy before. What could possibly go wrong?
I’m drawing a blank. Was it when I retired? If not, I’m afraid my memory may not be what it once was. I’m getting old, you know! Hm? Oh, what should I ask Janet? And the second news involves…?
When you retired indeed~ You gave me a Master Ball, which I still have. However, you should ask Janet about her future, and I bet you’ll be much more surprised than I was. She has some great news.
Last but not least, Master Cyrus showed up again.
As you wish, dear~
5. My best friend? Hard question, since I shouldn’t be allowed to have any. But, and here’s hope that Master Cyrus won’t read, if I could choose… Charon would be it. Indeed.
12. Feeling as marvelous as always, or even better, of course.
13. Well, let’s see… what about a huge pool full of melted white chocolate? Pretty sure there’s something else I rather need, yet this is the first thing that came to my mind, and I must say that I love the idea.
[Her expression gets a little less joyful. It’s been so much since they talked, and she has to admit that she isn’t pleased by that.]
Neither have I. To be honest, I haven’t heard from him since before Christmas, and I’m slightly worried. Charon is always Charon, anyway, of course he will miss his precious projects… but I doubt he will join us twice. Not in our mission. He’s never been interested before, so why now?
Maybe so, but it’s amazing how motivated he is by money. If someone pays him enough, he’ll put his name on any project. At least, that’s what some of the senior staff at Silph Co. told me when they saw I had him as a reference.
I haven’t heard from him since before Christmas, too. I wonder if he’s okay…
Oh my, his reputation precedes him, doesn’t it? We might as well ask Damarus, however. I remember you said they should be together, so he must know what’s going on.
Here’s hoping. Do you think he’ll try to talk Charon out of coming out of retirement? I wonder if he’d ever say yes. Last time I talked with him, he said that he was enjoying being able to sleep late, but he missed having projects. I wonder how his project with Damarus is going. I haven’t gotten wind of anything in a while…

You’re pretty damn smart, Janet; and I’m rather certain that you will be far more successful than anyone else your age, if you commit yourself to it. Which, I assure you, is most important.
But speaking of Team Galactic, did you know? I saw Master Cyrus the other day. He seemed to have something in mind, to say it all.
R-really? You saw Mr. Cyrus? O-oh…
[She laughed nervously, in a rapid hyeh hyeh hyeh hyeh hyeh in sequence with one another. She’d had a long talk with him before, and it’d left her rather nervous in his presence. He’d scared her something fierce.]
Well, that’s good, at least. I’d hate to think you’d be bored out here without me!
Oh, I had honestly thought I was going to be! But then he showed up again, as determined as ever. He even said that he wants to get us back into a suitable condition, although we are not decorous at all. My, isn’t it wonderful? If everything goes well, we won’t be anybody’s laughing stock anymore~
[Jupiter didn’t pay attention to Janet’s nervousness as a satisfied expression appeared on her face. She was truly too excited for that.]
Even if you were dubious, I was sure they would hire you; but I’m glad that you told me regardless.
Anyway, it’s not like I have much to do here, so I might as well pay you some visits. I’ve always wanted to see Kanto. Who knows, perhaps their Game Corner is not as tricky as our~ But really, Janet, I wish all the best for you. I mean it. And I can put up with everything it takes, from phone calls to postcards, for how mawkish it may seem. Besides, I have no intention to get my claws off you so easily, sweetie.
And I intend to hold onto you until the day you start to wiggle away like a nervous Gastrodon! Hyeh hyeh hyeh!
[She felt a bit better now. At last, she could say that Jupiter was on board with it, too.]
The person who interviewed me wanted to talk about Charon for a while, since I’d listed him as a reference. We talked about my field of expertise and the sort of projects I’d done with Team Galactic. After all, unlike most teams, we did have that legitimate front! Suddenly, I’m very glad for that.
I’m going to be one of their youngest employees. Most of the interns are my age.

But speaking of Team Galactic, did you know? I saw Master Cyrus the other day. He seemed to have something in mind, to say it all.
We can still talk to each other on the computer or on the phone! And I’ll work really hard so I can fly you out here any time you want. Kanto’s a really cool place, from the little bit of it I’ve seen. I have a feeling I’ll like Saffron City.
I didn’t want to blindside you with the news, though.
Even if you were dubious, I was sure they would hire you; but I’m glad that you told me regardless.

You may reach me here then. My, staring at the wall is not as funny as I hoped it would be.
Trust me, staring at a wall is way more funny if it’s covered in Gastrodon slime.
I wanted to let you know that Silph Co. called me back. They’re offering me the job! I’m so excited that I could practically explode, but I wanted to know how you felt about the whole thing, too. I told them I’d talk things over out here first before I gave them my answer.
Well, I guess you know how I feel, cutie. Didn’t I tell you? Work is work, and if your own gets you there… I can only be happy for you. You deserve it as much as they need your skill. It might make things harder, yet I don’t have the rights to stop you. Neither I want.
janet-halley ha risposto al tuo post : Can I meet with you sometime tomorrow? I ju….
You may reach me here then. My, staring at the wall is not as funny as I hoped it would be.I’m free now!
Of course, sweetie, I’m free whenever you are. I’ve just been sitting in my office these days.
I know, but I’m here to follow any order you may have, Master.
[Jupiter slowly bows, a little smirk on her face.]
Our departments haven’t been very active lately, I apologize, yet I can get them back to work in no time. It will be my greatest pleasure.
Yes, we need to get them back to work. First thing’s first, perhaps we should make an effort to recruit? Our numbers have been lacking, just like the work in most of our departments. Which reminds me…
[ He quickly turns to look at Jupiter, his face a very stern and grim frown. ]
What have you been doing while I was gone? Something productive?
Recruiting seems a very good idea, even though it might be harder than last time. Many people think little of us after we’ve been defeated, but of course that’s foolish of them. And about your question, Master, it depends on what you’d consider productive. Besides strenghtening myself and keeping our team alive, what else should I have done?
[And Jupiter’s grin is gone, too; in its place there is a serious expression -one more suitable to be shown to Cyrus.]

No need to tell me. I believe I know it as much, or better, than anybody else. It takes that much to join Team Galactic and get this far. And I still believe in our cause, naturally, because of a deep rooted reason. You guessed both; and you would usually get a prize, dear, but I’m afraid I won’t tell you anything~
Quite flattering to hear, especially since I was the one in charge for most of the battles. Merely one thing bothers me: I lost the last and most important fight. How pathetic of me.
Hmf, I figured. No matter, it’s none of my business, and like I said before, I admire your dedication for your cause.
I wasn’t really around for most of the physical battles that took place, but I heard about them. The very last fight? Was that when you all lost Giratina?
Yes. Anybody else, I wouldn’t be surprised this much… but I’ll never pity myself enough for that. I could do way better.
[ He stoically stares at the purple haired commander. ] Hmph. Yes, although I’ve seem to come back to Team Galactic being disarray. Mars and Saturn are missing. Charon is away. Team Galactic will need a lot of work if I am to get it back into a suitable condition for my plans to succeed…
I know, but I’m here to follow any order you may have, Master.
[Jupiter slowly bows, a little smirk on her face.]
Our departments haven’t been very active lately, I apologize, yet I can get them back to work in no time. It will be my greatest pleasure.
Hmm, I see. Having emotions is important, as is understanding the emotions of others.
It really must mean something, if you’re still there. I would assume it would mean that you started to believe in your cause again? Or is there some other, deep rooted reason you’re still there? You don’t have to tell me if you don’t wish to.
Yes, your leader, Cyrus, did get a little sloppy towards the end there, didn’t he? Nevertheless, you all were quite fearsome opponents.

Luckily I said the truth then; I’ve been asked both questions so many times that it isn’t even funny anymore. You should better ask me why, shouldn’t you, dear?
And those were the only Pokémon capable of fulfilling our desire, naturally, so it makes perfect sense. If your friends hadn’t stopped us, we would have even achieved our goal by now, instead of turning into this shameless phantom. I feel relieved knowing that you understand, at least partially, but honestly… I’d prefer you realized it before. Your prank cost us dearly, as you can see.
Hm, you caught me; it probably would have been in my best interest to ask that. So yes then, why?
Yes, well, while the world is flawed, it’s not enough to try and eradicate the whole thing and start from scratch; that’s mainly why we intervened. Also some of your tactics weren’t quite orthodox or good for the well-being of others, including the Pokemon you all captured.
If I had quit, I suppose, it would have been because I did not believe in our ideals anymore. Charon sort of did that, even though he had never really cared, unlike me. Or perhaps because I had understood the importance of all emotions, or even found someplace better to go. There are many possibilities, dear; and despite them, I’m still here. It must mean something, don’t you think?
We couldn’t do otherwise. We were impatient, Master Cyrus himself was… and taking it lightly, you’d have defeated us even sooner. Our guard couldn’t be lowered. Moreover, we Commanders had to both be excellent and expect our grunts to be, or we would get mediocrity. It was an order more than a simple motto.

Master Cyrus, I thought you-
my. Honestly glad to see you’re back, as always.
My, it’s a bit late to talk about that now, isn’t it? I’ll tell you what we wanted, however, using Master Cyrus’ same words: a whole new world.
And after your question, it’s my turn~ what if I had quit it? What would you have said?
If you said you had quit? -He smirks.- Well, my curiosity would probably get the better of me and I would ask what profession you do now. Or I would say that it was probably better for your well-being that you quit; most citizens are quite afraid and apprehensive of you all.
A whole new world? Is that why you all were after those certain Pokemon? It makes a bit more sense now. Well, to agree with you I will say there are some things in this world that would probably need changing.
Luckily I said the truth then; I’ve been asked both questions so many times that it isn’t even funny anymore. You should better ask me why, shouldn’t you, dear?

The way you are depicting him doesn’t really make him attractive but I guess he must have qualities if he succeded to make you change your mind about him. Although I hate people with no manners, he seems to be someone worthy of note.
Oh, dear, I hate them as much as you; but he is. You have this lady’s word.
Why are you asking, dear?
No. This is still my place.
Just curious is all. Your dedication to your cause is admirable…well, whatever it may be. I was called upon by my colleagues a while back to decipher something by Charon, but your ideals have always been foggy to me. What does Team Galactic want to accomplish anyway?
My, it’s a bit late to talk about that now, isn’t it? I’ll tell you what we wanted, however, using Master Cyrus’ same words: a whole new world.
And after your question, it’s my turn~ what if I had quit it? What would you have said?
Oh wow. It sounds like misfortune has plagued your organization. While I might not have agreed with your plans or how you all went about it, what happened is…unfortunate. So you are distanced from Team Galactic now?
Why are you asking, dear?
No. This is still my place.
Yes I have to admit I’m a little bit too much greedy sometimes but who doesn’t like money after all?
I don’t know this Charon you are speaking about. What is he like?
Well, to make it short, at first I thought he was everything I could dislike about a human being. He was impolite, rather chubby, loud-mouthed, rude… have I already said that he lacked of any manners? Yes, I have to say that I used to think this poorly of him.
Those were other times though; and you can’t describe Charon briefly, truly. I’m glad I got to know him some more. He isn’t a perfect gentleman, and probably will never be, but he’s… I dare say special. A very interesting person, too, once you hang around with him.
May be. In my case, well, that’s not about money; never cared that much. I just want to feel superior to everybody else, luckier I say; ending up being the poorest of them all. I get back half of what I’ve given.
Gambling is not my thing.
I see, you are more interested in pride. I can understand that, knowing you are superior is such a enjoyable feeling. But what a pity you lost.
Well, gambling isn’t really my thing either. I mean of course I love this thrill when I win but I hate loosing money and I lose too often to my taste. It may be different if I play with somebody else’s money though. I guess I’m greedier than proud.
So are you greedy, dear? You really remind me of somebody now, one of my ex coworkers. He’s called Charon and, if you haven’t met him, I can already tell you… he loves money more than anybody else in the world.
Perhaps you two could get along~
No, of course we have not. But do you really want to know? It’s such a pitiful story, if you believe me.
Hm, it would very much intrigue me to know, if you want to share. Oh, I’m sure it can’t be that bad.
It is. And well, I don’t even have much to hide anymore, so here it goes:
After our first and last failure, we lost Master Cyrus. He vanished. But not only him, because me and Mars quit as well, while Saturn and Charon went back to the HQ. I have little idea of what happened during my absence, but anyway, when I returned everything was different… to say the least. Now, this you don’t need to know; let me just say that we’re disjointed once again. Charon’s retired, Mars and Saturn somewhere I don’t know. Master Cyrus came back to disappear twice a month ago. I’m alone.
Do you truly need to be told anything else? For your pleasure, we’re the shadow of our former success. How much I despise it you won’t guess.
Yes, that’s what they joke about. But as you see, in spite of the planet, I‘m in top shape.
That’s what I knew too. This means that we do have something in common, doesn’t it? A Latin God and a Latin name.
Heh, I can see that. Ah yes, being bound by Latin. Such a complicated and beautiful language; it’s a shame that the mother of all languages is archaic now.
But I digress. I haven’t heard much about your Team’s going-on for a while now. Have you all moved to another region?
No, of course we have not. But do you really want to know? It’s such a pitiful story, if you believe me.
I would hope it would be. -He smiles a bit.- Jupiter…it’s nice to meet you. Your name is quite pretty, I must say.
Oh? My, thank you. It’s something you can either love or hate, and I don’t get to hear a compliment often.
I find it very lovely myself; is the name of a Major God after all. And I also happen to know something about yours.
Ah yes, the god Jupiter. It’s also one of the many planets in our solar system, being the biggest even.
Oh, you do? I know mostly that it’s Latin and not very common.
Yes, that’s what they joke about. But as you see, in spite of the planet, I‘m in top shape.
That’s what I knew too. This means that we do have something in common, doesn’t it? A Latin God and a Latin name.
I know that, dear~
In case you didn’t know mine, though, I’m Jupiter. Might it be my pleasure to make your acquaintance?

Hm, hello. I see you’re part of Team Galactic; your group is quite infamous around this region.
And the Elite Four is quite infamous among us, especially we Commanders. But do you want to start fighting already? As far as I’m concerned, there’s no need. I’m not in the middle of a mission.
Oh no no, I don’t wish to fight with you. I know in the past my fellow colleagues have had trouble with…some of you, but I don’t dwell in the past. Besides, I’m not so sure that we have even crossed paths before. My name is Lucian, by the way.
I know that, dear~
In case you didn’t know mine, though, I’m Jupiter. Might it be my pleasure to make your acquaintance?
Oh dear. Hello.

Oh dear. Hello.
I understand you, I hate losing too! I do my best to win but nobody can win all the time. Sometimes I think I should be more wise when I play for money but most of the times I’m too much thrilled to care. Perhaps I love money too much.
May be. In my case, well, that’s not about money; never cared that much. I just want to feel superior to everybody else, luckier I say; ending up being the poorest of them all. I get back half of what I’ve given.

Always having to be in Veilstone, the Game Corner is a must, even though I’m not quite the player. Have you ever been to a similar place at least once?
Oh yes. We have a famous game corner in Celadon and I admit a small weakness for these games. Nothing beats playing with money to get a good thrill…or hardly anything.
I remember, Sylv- one of your grunts told me about the Celadon Game Corner some time ago. You know, I’d gladly agree with you… if only I didn’t just keep losing that money again and again. Winning is always better, isn’t it? It gives the most thrilling thrill.
Ah, I’ve never been one to accept defeat. But in this case, I seem to never learn as well.
Skuntank Tales: tr-wendy: commjupiter: Oh? That’s an interesting point; though I…
My, yes, I forgot~! Our goals happen to be quite different as well, hence our dissimilarity. But tell me, dear, why don’t we stop talking about work? I suppose that’s not what socializing should be like.
That’s true. Talking about work is so boring in the long-run. So tell me what do you do in Sinnoh when you want some entertainment?

Oh? That’s an interesting point; though I prefer having a few but skilled underlings rather than many and average ones.
Well, since you are from the Human Resources yourself, you should know better than me.
You see Team Rocket is a bigger team and we have many bases in several regions that’s why we need an important workforce. More recruits mean more profit.
